Dr. Carl J. Cooper was born in Savannah. He is the second of four boys raised by a single mother who was also a nurse. Dr. Cooper attended public schools in Savannah, He served in the USAF. He graduated" Cum Laude" from Savannah State College with a B.S. in Biology and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee, Memphis graduating in 1992. He owned his own practice and later worked as a hospitalist and consultant for the state of Georgia. He worked with the CDC on the Ebola outbreak in 2014 and has spent time working with low-income immigrant populations from around the world. He is now starting a new phase Of life in Fayetteville, Georgia.
